Research Associate/Scientist (Immunology)

Job Description

Esco Ventures X is incubating exciting new life science and biotech venture companies with first-in-class science addressing unmet medical needs. This position is available for a recently founded biotech company, PairX Bio, developing therapeutics for cancer immunotherapy through a proprietary platform technology which enables identification of novel disease targets based on unique biology. The candidate will contribute to development of the platform technology and work closely with the scientific co-founders and management team. The company has a stellar scientific advisory board and is well-capitalized with seed funding to develop first-in-class immunotherapies against cancer.


We are looking for a Scientist with immunology expertise to join us in this exciting venture. An ideal candidate is one who is independent, technically competent, and able to work efficiently across multiple projects.


  • Perform independent research work through the design, execution and troubleshoot of experiments

  • Manage studies performed by contract research organizations

  • Evaluate and interpret collected data and prepare oral presentations or written reports/ scientific manuscripts/literature for publication. Present data from research work internally and externally.

  • Contribute to scientific and strategy discussions to achieve R&D milestones

  • Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of research data, inventories, protocols, maintenance logs, sample processing logs, SOPs etc.

  • Support the continued protection, creation, and expansion of company’s intellectual property.

  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor/Master’s degree in Biological Sciences/ Life Sciences with at least 3 years of relevant research experience or PhD

  • Candidate must have significant experience with immunology based experiments and be familiar with the culture and handling of PBMCs, T lymphocytes isolation and T cell toxicity assays.

  • Experience with running flow cytometry experiments and immuno-phenotyping of T cells is preferred.

  • Candidates with experience in T-cell engineering would be a plus

  • General laboratory techniques such as molecular assays (such as PCR, qPCR, ELISAs, western blot). 

  • Able to manage and ensure smooth operations in the lab.

  • Able to work in a fast-paced startup environment

  • Energetic, highly motivated, collaborative
